Toothpaste. I dye my hair with special effects and manic panic often and sometimes i want a change before the color fades out on its own. Any white toothpaste, not a gel, that is whitening will work. Its great for your scalp too, helps remove any build up. Squeeze some out in your hand and mix it up while adding water to it. You may have to do it a few times before it really gets the color out but it does work. A few times i actually gooped up my head and let it sit with a grocery bag covering it. Another thing i find that works is cholesterol treatments. Makes your hair really soft afterwords preventing any more damage as well as fading the color out.

Something i almost forgot... baby shampoo. Its harsh. I only ever do it when i dye my hair back to blond and im stuck with an ashy chemical reaction. Really really dries your hair out. Save it as a last resort.

Use really really bad shampoo. Like generic brand. It doesn't have anything that will protect you hair, and it will strip everything in your hair. Including the precious head oils. So make sure you follow with a good conditioner (but not a color preserving one)

You can try a clairying shampoo, those are made to take ALL the junk out of your hair. You will probably still have to wash several times, so be sure to condition between washes.

Also, there is a product called Color Oops that is specialyl designed to get hair dye out. You can typically get it at a pharmacy such as walgreens.

Hmm, you're best bet would be to dye your hair again - this time dye it as close to your natural color as possible. This has worked for me. I HIGHLY recommend Garnier Nutrisse hair dye, Clairol, or L'Oreal. Make sure the dye says something about "gray coverage" so it will color your hair evenly.
