I wouldn't care because that's what I did as a teenager. I would worry a bit if they were heavily into the punk scene because I used to go to a lot of shows with underage drinking, etc. I've also been to a bunch of 'preppy' keg parties where the kids were acting just as stupid with underage drinking so appearance really doesn't say much to me.

Holly crapp did the circus come to town...But after accepting it and her because she is my child...I would learn to live with it.

I had a neighbor (keep in mind he was a marine) who has a son and when he turned 16 he decided that he wanted to be a girl so he started dressing in drag and stuffing his bra, growing his hair out and wearing make up and all the things girls do. Well the father disappeared for 2 weeks when he came back he told his son that no matter what I will love you. I may not always agree with you but you will always be my son/daughter whatever it is in life you want to be. The son is now 30 and has had a complete gender transfer I guess you would say. And the family takes it one day at a time.

I'm looking for a specific stuffed animal. Its yellow (i know it also came in pink) and has glow in the dark stars all over it. When you turned the lights off its eyes were painted with glow in the dark eyelashes so it looked like it was sleeping. Hey. I've done about all there is I can do with my hair - I wear it curly, straight, wavy, flicked up, curled under - something different every day. I've always changed the color - I've been everything but platinum or green. I've even had pink hair. I just love artistic expression through changing my appearance, not to mention I'm good at it. I've wanted to have dookie braids or long dreads for years but I've been afraid of being judged by the African American community for wanting to be something I'm not. The truth is, I just love ethnic hairstyles. This summer, I'm taking a group trip to Israel with young people and I want to give braids or dreads a chance. Bad idea? I've never done it, so what do I need to look for in a braid shop, how much should I expect to pay, how long should I expect to be there (I have bobbed hair, but I definately want tricked out colors, thickness, and longer length so I'll have them braid in extensions)? Also, will dookies or dreads last 3 weeks?

girl......don't u worry one bit about being judged.....if that's what you want, and you are a paying client.....they won't have a problem....but if you do want to avoid any drama, make an appointment earlier in the week...like tuesday or wednesday......its usually a little slower those days in black salons......you never said where u lived.......i have a braider who would love to do your hair.....but my salon is in marlyand.......ps.....i'm a white girl....and i own a black salon.....go figure!!!.....lol

You can search online for a hair salon that specializes in braids. It should be able to give you all of the information that you will need, along with pictures of styles. However, why do you want Dookie Braids? Those went out of style back in the early 90's with Kwame and the Polka Dot shirt. Also, they aren't very stylish. You might want to try cornrows. They can be done in various sizes from very thick to very thin, and can be done in some really cute styles that can be worn casual or dressy.

Do a search for Black Hairstyles or African American hair salons and you should be able to find a salon in your area. You may even want to start your search on www.blackvoices.com

The scene haircut is getting out really fast simply because people are getting sick of it.

The best thing to do is wait till your parents let you dye your hair bright colours and do it without the scene haircut, or cut it short.

With those eyes you would be stunning with an auburn red color. But remember don't color your hair often as it will be an absolute dry horse's tail of mess when you reach your 30's. I do mine maybe once every year or two just for some change. I say Go for It!!!

With the hair styles and such, they have makeup people to do that for them. Also with the interviews they record them as they go along, but in reality tv you have to make it more interesting and when they put the cuts together, the interviews were placed accordingly.

they wanted the girls to be shown in their outfits during the interviews they do. most reality shows interview the contestants once a week for like an hour about all the stuff that happened.

if you look at leilane her hair did change between the first and last interview. you are right though saaphyri's hair did not change in the final interview. the only thing i can think is they asked her to say how she felt if she won the prize and how she felt not winning the prize. they only put in the reaction to her winning the prize.

The reason is because Saaphayri didn't have her hair died to her color. And so when you don't die the hair to the natural color it doesn't change. I think too they had the same hairstyles through out the show is becausee they show didn't have them do makeover's to change their hair. And they chose to keep their hair the same way.

*where can i find TEMPORARY (like the kind that washes out in one shower) hot pink hair dye for the tips of my hair?

*how should i do my hair/make up?? as of now, its dark brown, straight, and shoulder length. i have a medium-light skin tone, and medium blue eyes.

Why not be one of the 80's punk rock chic girls? Wear a mesh shirt with a contrasting tanktop underneath. Wear a tight mini skirt. Wear leggings that go past your knees with some coordinating pumps or high heels. Finish the look with a big belt, some hoop earrings, and make sure you really tease your hair up so it looks big! Wear some dark eyeliner and lots of lipgloss. You can get some of the temporary hair dye at Sally's beauty supply stores. They have it in colors like blue, green, pink, etc. especially for Halloween.

Get pink hair extensions. you can find some that just clip in your hair, or even to glue on (sounds harsh but its really easy to get out, you just let conditioner sit on it for 5 minutes and it comes right out)

Use a bright neon eyeshadow, preferrably lime green!! and lots of black eyeliner!!

get a jean jacket, and rip off the sleaves, sew on some patches or put some holes in it.. and get some leopord print pants, or leggings iwht a black skirt!!

get caramel or honey hihights, something a shade or 2 darker than your hair color. blone is cute hilights too, but i know u dont want that. in a way that doesnt have an affect w/ going to the beach or in a public pool. my grandparents have their own pool and its not hurt or changed my hair any %26amp; trust me ive had it alot of colors except pink, blue purple and all that.

Does creme of nature make a moisturizer that can be used daily? if not any suggestions for natural hair??

i use ORS olive oil lotion and hollywood beauty's oil (carrot and t-tree mostly). I don't think CON has a moisturizer

recently, i've opened my eyes and realized that i get quite a few glances from different guys around. usually what'll happen is, i'll catch a guy looking at me but as SOON as he's caught he'll look away, he wont hold the eye contact, and then either glance back right after, or glance back again sometime throughout the day. and they all seem to do this?

ive been waiting for at least one of them to come up and talk to me, but they dont. so im not quite sure of the motive of their staring?

are they staring because they like what they see? im a pretty normal person, so i dont look all crazy, like i dont have bright pink hair or anything, its just blonde. but i AM confused. lol.

Just to think about...when looking for work, you mentioned you're not looking for a job in an office or anything..does that somehow differ from the standards that you would set for yourself in a daycare or babysitting gig? To thine own self be true, whether it be the Presidency or Poop scooper, I usually rely on my own self awareness and value. Those around you, in and out of the workplace, will respect you for it. try pink highlights instead of the whole head. if its really suttle but you still like it most people wont mind. remember do what you want to do despite what everyone else wants. even if its your boss parents friends, be your own self thats why you were blessed with free will (praise be to chrisna, buddha,jesus,mohammed).

Seriously though, you would have to look at the clients of where you are wanting to get a job and imagine how they would react.

A daycare might frown upon really obnoxious pink hair because parents might be concerned about the maturity and responsibility level of a person with anything out of the 'norm'.

Appearances shouldn't dictate the ability for one to get and maintain a job, however in society these days, it is apperances that speak the loudest.

unfortunatly, yes. As an employee (especially in daycare), they need to see you at your most responcible and respectable appearance...it's like going to church in your sunday best... doesn't change how you function, but it shows your responcibility on the outside. As someone with tattoo's and piercings, I make the sacrifice of putting in retainers so I look more on-the-ball.

Also, where you're dealing with kids, your dealing with parents. Little Susie mught LOVE the pink hair, but her mom has an occupation of evaluating what kind of person is watching after her daughter, and she only wants the cream of the crop (she wished harvard students would come babysit her little angel).

So, bottom line, do what you want, but don't expect acceptance....sad, but true.

If you want to have pink hair (which I had in the past), you might try finding a job in a coffee house, alternative hair salon, punk store, skate board shop, head to mid-town and find a liberal restaurant to work in. There are plenty of businesses that would welcome you hair style choice. If you are young and still working towards your degree then go for it. If you have graduated and are looking for a career position buy a wig for the weekends and call it day. Have fun!

Trust me; if you want to get a job, even at a daycare center, I would forget the pink!!!!!!! how would you feel if you were a parent and saw someone working there with pink hair? face it, kiddo, the real world is not what we want it to be.....Now if you had your own day care center, %26amp; was established in that field, then you MIGHT get away with it, but even then, I wouldnt leave my child there!! sorry, but it's the awful truth....If you wanted to wear a pink wig once in awhile for the kids to see, MAYBE..(hey, I'm grasping at straws here!!) My dad is goth and 27. My mom is kinda I guess. She looks just like Audrey Kitching with the pink hair and clothing. My friends think it is cool. But those are always those gay people who think my parents are weird. Okay they are not you typical parents being 27 and 26 when I am 14 but they are good parents I guess.
